The Order of Bahamut is a gaming guild that plays Guild Wars and is highly anticipating Guild Wars 2. We play only on the live servers of these games.
Order of Bahamut is a mature-minded kinship and gaming community dedicated to cooperation, teamwork and fun. Our kinship embraces a variety of diverse gaming styles, ranging from true role-playing to PvP. Our members enjoy regular kinship-wide events including quest rallies, sparing competitions, role-playing nights, scavenger hunts and more!
While we are not a "strict" role-playing kinship, we do count a fair number of role-players among our ranks, and consider in-character role-playing to be an important part of who we are. While role-playing is not required, if you chose to do so you will find a very RP-friendly environment here.
While our kinship is small, we are a very close-knit group of friends. Each of our members has the unique opportunity to directly contribute to shaping the kinship and laying a foundation that we can build upon for years to come!
In addition to a great group of mature gamers to team with, our kinship offers our members:
• weekly in-game events
• a mentorship process to indoctrinate new members into our kinship
• a highly detailed awards system to reward your in-game and kinship-related contributions and accomplishments
• RP-oriented forums for sharing stories of your adventures
• a dynamic and ever-evolving lore, and an on-going RP storyline that each member can directly contribute to

There are rules in life that all must live by in order to maintain the peace. Our kinship is no different.
We expect the members of our kinship to be mature and polite gamers at all times, whether in-game or on our forums. With that in mind, we feel we can keep a simple and streamlined set of rules that set the tone and expectations of our kinship without bogging everyone down in a bunch of bureaucracy.
1. Be courteous to other gamers with your words and actions, even when they don't deserve it.
2. Remain active with the kinship, both in-game and on our forums.
3. Keep your language clean enough to be said in polite company.
4. You may not charge fellow members for goods or services or post kinship-only auctions. Trade between our members is always free.
5. Be respectful of those who chose to role-play their characters, even if you chose not to do so.
6. You may not use hacks, cheats or bots, purchase in-game gold or items for real-world cash or otherwise violate the game’s Terms of Use or End-User License Agreement.
Disciplinary Procedures
Any member who violates a kinship rule will be given a warning by an officer. If a member receives three warnings, or a single warning for a serious offense, a vote will be held among all officers to determine if the member should be dismissed from the kinship. Any member who feels he or she has received a warning without warrant should contact another officer to discuss the matter. Officers must follow the same rules and are subject to the same disciplinary procedures as any other member.

We encourage our members to meet and exceed various expectations by offering a wide variety of kinship awards. These awards are to be a way to make the game more fun and exciting, and to recognize those who have distinguished themselves among their peers. Many are created to promote a strong RP environment, and we encourage everyone to role-play your character's quest to attain the various awards.
In keeping with the "dragon" theme of our kinship, the awards are named after famous dragons from mythology and literature.
Those who earn these awards will get to display special "gemstone" award icons beneath their signatures on our forums to share their accomplishments with their peers and visitors to our kinship. These awards also apply to our parent guild -- The Order of Bahamut -- and are independent of any particular online game.
Black Pearl of Quetzalcoatl: For attaining the rank of Dragon Champion.
Diamond of Typhon: For demonstrating excellence in role-playing.
Ruby of Li: For commitment to the mentorship process and assisting new members.
Amethyst of Chiao: For excellence in diplomacy through building and strengthening our alliances.
Topaz of Ladon: For showing commitment and dedication by remaining a member of the kinship in good standing over the course of one year.
Emerald of Falkor: For consistently displaying the character of a Hero - offering truth and goodness to others, and expecting nothing in return.
Sapphire of Leviathan: For displaying leadership in battle, more than just prowess in combat.
Flaming Pearl of Bahamut: For accomplishing the highest goal of a Dragon Champion -- earning all other awards of the kinship.

As members prove themselves through their actions and commitment to the Light, they will progress through successive ranks within the kinship with the ultimate goal of becoming aDragon Champion -- one who exemplifies all that the Light of the Silver Dragon stands for.
Dragon Seeker: Each new member begins as a Dragon Seeker. During this time the member is on a trial basis and will be closely observed by the officers to determine if he or she is a mature, team-oriented gamer and a good fit for the kinship.
Dragon Disciple: Dragon Disciples are those who have passed their trial period and are full members of the kinship. They show an active interest to engage with the the kinship during our events and activities and adhere to our rules at all times.
Dragon Champion: The Dragon Champions are those members who have shown true commitment and dedication in supporting our kinship. They know our rules and lore by heart, they actively support role-playing and other kinship events, and seek to help other members at all times.
Dragon Guardian: The Dragon Guardians are the officers of the kinship. Each one has responsibility for a particular aspect of the kinship's administration. The kinship leader will always consult with his officers before making any significant decisions that affect the entire kinship.
Dragon Master: The Dragon Master is the founder and leader of the kinship, yet he is not considered "above" or "better than" any other member. His position is about service and commitment to all other members of the kinship.
Hibernating Dragon: We understand that life can get busy sometimes, and gaming can take a back seat to more pressing matters. You shouldn't have to leave your kinship when you need to focus on more important things. Any member that is in good standing with the kinship, but has real life circumstances keeping them from being actively involved for a prolonged period, may elect to take the rank of Hibernating Dragon -- retaining their membership in the kinship for the promise of one day returning to active status.
